Logically we have four choices at most:
1) live on the street;
2) live with a relative, like in their basement;
3) rent a house or apartment; or
4) own your home.
No matter how great the economy is, no matter how bad the economy is, those are the choices we all have.
Let's eliminate 1 and 2 because they are pretty extreme.
Every tenant I know complains about their landlord, their rent keeps going up, the property is not maintained as they would like, the landlord can force them to move etc etc etc.
If you own your home it might go up in value, in might go down in value, it might go nowher in value, but if pay the bills, you cannot be forced to move.
Again, whatever happens to the economy we all have to live somewhere. Isn't owning your own home the best of the alternatives?
